np Centrifuge Tubes

Optimized for Precision and Comfort – The New Centrifuge Tubes from nerbe plus

With the redesigned 50 mL centrifuge tubes from nerbe plus, we present the next generation of a proven laboratory essential – now featuring improved ergonomics, optimized handling, and enhanced user comfort.

The new design combines modern usability with maximum functionality:
The updated screw cap with wider ribbing now provides significantly improved grip, ensuring  secure opening and closing, even when wearing gloves or working under demanding laboratory conditions.
In addition, the overall tube length has been slightly adjusted to ensure even better compatibility with standard centrifuge rotors – for a stable and secure fit in every application.

Importantly, despite these design improvements, the material composition, chemical resistance, quality standards, and centrifugation performance remain completely unchanged. All products retain their proven characteristics – including a maximum RCF capacity of 20,000 × g, autoclavability up to 121 °C (without cap), and biological purity.

The tubes are made of high-purity polypropylene (PP) with a green polyethylene (PE) screw cap and are available in two versions: non-sterile (Art. 02-572-3001) and sterile R (Art. 02-572-8001).

Frequently Asked Questions about Centrifuge Tubes

What is the difference between RCF (g-force) and RPM?

RPM measures revolutions per minute but does not account for the rotor radius. RCF (Relative Centrifugal Force) describes the actual force exerted on the sample. Our tubes are designed for high performance up to 20,000 g (RCF).

Why is the new nerbe plus cap ribbing beneficial?

The wider ribbing on the screw cap significantly improves ergonomics. It provides a better grip, making opening and closing much safer and more comfortable, especially when wearing lab gloves or handling moist containers.

Can the tubes be sterilized in an autoclave?

Yes, the polypropylene tubes are autoclavable up to 121 °C. It is crucial to leave the screw cap loose or remove it entirely to prevent deformation caused by pressure differences.

What should I consider when centrifuging samples stored at –80 °C?

Our tubes are cold-resistant down to –80 °C. However, when centrifuging deep-frozen samples, the material should be allowed to acclimatize slightly to ensure the plastic maintains its full mechanical strength.

What does "Free of RNase, DNase, and Pyrogens" mean?

This guarantees the absence of enzymes or impurities that could degrade your samples (e.g., DNA or RNA) or interfere with cell culture reactions. Our tubes are manufactured under strict cleanroom conditions to ensure this purity.

How does the new tube length affect lab work?

The slight increase in length optimizes compatibility with a wider range of common rotors. Additionally, the expanded area beneath the cap ensures an even more secure and consistent seal.
